Camping

Friday afternoon we met our friends & headed to the mountains for our camping adventure. Our camp sites were perfect. We had 2 sites next to each other, in complete shade. We made it one huge site with 2 tents, eating area with picnic tables, camp fire & made an area for the kids to play in. The best part of the site was a small creek that ran right next to our area & had a small bridge the kids played on for hours!

We cooked lots of fun food, had smores, made ice cream ( there is a recipe that you put together then shake the bag for 7 mins, & ice cream is made....it was way cool!), went to the camp playground, putt putt, tractor rides, walked around the ponds, & just enjoyed our time.

Mom, Dad, Gramma & Grammy came by for dinner on Saturday night. Also, they brought wood for us on Friday! Thank you!

Saturday we drove to Anna Ruby Falls & hiked the trail to see the waterfall. Afterwards, we went to the state park & had a picnic lunch.

The kids did great being outdoors all weekend long....they slept great in the tent, and were kinda bummed when we got home on Sunday afternoon because they didnt want to sleep in their real beds! :)

It was kinda funny for me to be camping in Hiawassee, since that is where mom and dad are--it was weird not sleeping at their house!

Sunday afternoon we went to the pool that we joined for our first dip in the pool this season. Monday there was a Memorial Day cookout for all members - which was nice. Tons of food and tons of people having a great time. We stayed a few hours, came home for naps & then went back with some friends for a few more hours.

It was a great Memorial Day weekend. Thanks for serving in the Navy Dad!
